This policy explains what personal information is collected by the notifythis.com website and the NotifyThis software, how it is used and protected. It is governed by Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

2. The NotifyThis software (privacy by design)

NotifyThis is a desktop application. Your notes, tasks, and reminders are stored only on your computer. The app does not send your content to our servers and requires no account to work.

3. Information collected by the website

Simply browsing the site requires neither an account nor registration. Information is only collected when you voluntarily provide it:

• Contact form: your name, email, and the content of your message, in order to reply to you.
• Newsletter (if you subscribe): your email address, in order to send you NotifyThis news.

4. Use of information

Your information is used solely to respond to your requests and, where applicable, to send you the newsletter you consented to. It is never sold or rented.

5. Hosting and third parties

Donations are processed by PayPal under its own privacy policy; we neither receive nor store your payment information. The software download is hosted by GitHub. These services may collect data under their own policies.

6. Retention and security

Information is kept for as long as necessary for the intended purpose, then destroyed. Reasonable measures are taken to protect your information against loss and unauthorized access.

7. Your rights

You may request access to your information, its correction or deletion, and withdraw your consent to the newsletter at any time, by writing to the person responsible indicated above.

8. Changes

This policy may be updated. The last updated date appears at the top of this page.
